Olga Trofimtseva: "Trigger" for the development of agroindustrial complex is export

In an interview for TRUMAN Report deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European Integration Olga Trofimtseva expressed confidence that the "trigger" for the development of agrarian complex and processing in the first stage will be exports.

"Within the framework of the National Export Strategy of Ukraine, we are developing a sectoral export strategy, because the agro-food component is one of the seven priority sectors of the national strategy. This is a working document, under which we have developed a ramified plan of action. It specifies concrete steps to create stimulating factors for the development of processing, and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the Ministry of Economic Development and Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, the State Service of Civil Service, the Fiscal Service and other agencies will be involved, " says Olga Trofimtseva. At the same time, she identified two main incentives for the development of processing.

"The first is the creation of domestic demand and the search for new foreign markets for processed products. The second is financial incentives. These may be tax holidays for investments, privileges for foreign investors, programs of partial compensation of the cost of domestic equipment for processing, stimulating the localization of its production. I am optimistic. Unless there is any geopolitical or geo-economic turmoil, with our current rapid development of exports, we will achieve our goals, " the official said.
